Other FlavoursAnother key benefit of Debian is that the distribution is packaged for multiple architectures, including Alpha, ARM, HP PA-RISC, Intel x86, Intel IA-64, Motorola 680x0, MIPS, MIPS (DEC), PowerPC, IBM S/390, and SPARC! That's quite a choice. And even more interestingly, Debian is not tied to the Linux kernel! There's also a ``Linux-free'' Debian called Debian/Hurd (hurd-i386) and, surprisingly there is even discussion of a Debian/Cygwin which runs Debian packages on legacy MSWindows platforms via the Cygwin compatibility toolkit. Now that will be something to see!
