JavaDebian (and many others for that matter) can not distribute Sun's Java because of Sun's licenses, which at the simplest do not meet the Debian Free Software Guidelines. This is a problem since Java is such a widely used Internet language. However, you can manually install the Sun Java software development kit yourself, as long as you are happy to accept the Sun Java license. Alternatively, install one of the alternatives like kaffe.
